Alexander Kentikelenis is a Research Fellow in Politics at Oxford University, and a Fellow in Global Social Protection at Harvard University. His research interests lie in the fields of political economy, economic and organizational sociology, public health, and international development.

Alexander has written extensively on the consequences of economic crises, austerity, and structural reforms on social protection policies. His research has appeared in leading academic journals, including The LancetWorld Development, The Lancet Global HealthSocial Science & Medicine and the European Journal of Public Health, and has received attention by various media outlets, including the New York TimesLe MondeEl País, Reuters, Associated Press, the BBC, and Al Jazeera. In addition, it has formed the basis of parliamentary questions in the House of Lords and the European Parliament. Alexander has also worked as a consultant to the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
